Kaitlyn Elizabeth was born Jan.14th at 7:53 a.m. She weighed 8lbs. 14ozs. and was 20 3/4" long. We didn't find out the gender with this baby so hearing them say "It's a Girl" was a great surprise. We had to be at the hospital at 5:30 that morning so it didn't take long at all. We headed over to L&D and by 7:10 anesthesia was there and shortly after that we were taken to the O.R. Overall the c-section went very well and other than getting sick there were no other problems. It took a little longer than usual because the dr. said I had quite a bit of scar tissue. They also did something new this time where they gave me a pain pump that was sewen directly into my incision that made a HUGE difference. I was up walking sooner and was more coherant since I didn't have to be hooked up to the morphine pump. It was great actually being aware and awake for everything and remembering it this time around. My mom brought Kierstyn and Landen up to meet their new little sister and they were both excited. We came home in the afternoon on the 16th. They almost didn't discharge us because Kaitlyn had lost over 9% of her birthweight (as most of my kids seem to lose a lot in the hospital)but finally decided that she hadn't quite hit that 10% mark so they made us a follow up appointment and discharged us. It's good to be home, but tougher than it was in the hospital. I'm doing well and got my staples out the following Friday.
